Weather

Clear cold and windy until about noon when clouds started rolling in. By 2 PM the southern end of the Ten Mile Range was getting socked in.

Snowpack

There had clearly been a lot of wind. We were skiing a north facing slope up the drainage but not all of the way to the top of the drainage. Where the trees were sparse the snow was crust, both hard and breakable. Below treeline it was still wind affected, either breakable crust or soft crust whereever there was a break in the trees. No obvious natural avalanches near Mt. Helen, Quandary or Crystal. Also nothing on the south side of Baldy.
