Broken skies in the morning, became obscured with light snow by 2 pm. Winds light from north.
Snowpack
Observations around the Crag Crest and summit of highway 65 showed and average snowpack depth of just over 2 meters. Biggest short term and long term concerns were weak layers in the upper 2 feet of snowpack. Two surface hoar layers found in our profile were buried around 17 and 25cm's below the surface. Stronger mid and lower snowpack made up of 1F-P hard rounds and mixed forms. One thin melt freeze crust found around 70 cm below the surface could be a concern with a large storm, but difficult to trigger at this time.
