Snowpack

Quick report from two days of touring in the Marble zone this weekend: Found a very reactive layer of buried surface hoar at and below TL on slopes NW - NE facing, approx 40 - 50 cm. down and up to 10mm in size. An SCS produced an SS ASr D2 R3 on V at TL N facing. Collapsing was prevalent in widespread pockets at and below TL on same aspects. We were being rimed up pretty well yesterday midday, found a variety of new surface hoar as well as a thin zipper crust in the process of forming below TL before the arrival of any precip yesterday. The snow was much more reactive than I anticipated.
