Snowpack

Snowing hard(+1" per hour), no wind and warm. At 10,500 the snow was about 1 meter deep. 50 cm of facets (that were in the process of rounding), 30 cm of consolidated 1 finger snow from earlier this week, 5mm of hard crust, 15cm of fresh snow(@ 1:30pm). Crust was supportive with skis on at the top, but became less and less supportive descending into the valley. Lots of collapsing and cracking, especially around shallow area in the snowpack (trees, willows, etc). Remotely triggered a small slide on a more East (than North) facing slope from a bench above, 10 meters wide running 30 meters, 35 degrees below roll over. Ran to the ground, crown was 30-40cm deep. Occurred around 10,000 ft, the snow was only 40 cm deep (20 cm of facets, 10 cm of storm snow from earlier in the week, 10 cm of fresh).
