Weather

Winds visibly blowing snow at upper elevations. Drifting snow even at valley bottoms; skin track from previous party partially filled in a few hours in open area. Skies scattered to broken. Cold. Single digits.

Snowpack

Not a happy snowpack. Still adjusting to dramatic load from recent storms. Multiple failure planes, depending on aspect.

Avalanche

Debris in many west-facing gullies off Aspen Mountain; couldn't tell whether from slabs or sluffs. D1.5 size. Possible crowns on Green Mountain (N, NE, >11000'); reports of large slides on shaded slopes in Little Italian Basin on route to/ from Opa's Taylor Hut.
