Skiing in sparse trees at ridgetop (low angle slope) on a SE aspect and experienced a small whoomph. A quick dig showed 40cm of F precip particles overlying a thin (0.5-1cm) January MFcr. Below, a 1cm layer of facets was sandwiched between another thin crust and then mixed forms below. ECTP21 down 40 on FC below Jan MFcr. No natural avalanches observed, minimal wind effect seen, no slab quality in new storm snow on travels (E/SE in TL/BTL).
