Tail end of the storm that left 6 to 14 inches on new settling snow distributed across aspects. Intermittent breaks in clouds and brief periods of snowfall highlighted the battle between winter and summer.
Snowpack
Easterly through west-facing slopes now have a 1 to 5 cm new sun crust at the surface. On the other side of the compass, northwest through northeast to east, where more snow has drifted, there are 10 to 20 inch deep, slowly stabilizing wind drifts. Density ranges from 8 to 10 percent. Some locations are adjusting quicker than others. Moderate wind speeds in the alpine are continuing to load slopes with both storm and persistent weaknesses. If the loading continues the hazard will remain elevated.
