Weather

Snow fell through most of the day with varying intensity. Winds were strong enough to drift new snow near treeline and open areas below treeline.

Snowpack

Storm snow was the only concern I felt today and even that was limited to isolated slopes where I was hunting for slabs. The new snow did not have enough weight to impact the crust that formed on southerly slopes during the January thaw. On north through east-facing slopes, new snow was bordering on the stubborn side.

Avalanche

A small D1.5 avalanche on a northeast-facing slope near Lobo overlook, near treeline.
