Dug a quick pit and carried out a column test approx 2/3 of the way along the ridge from Balu Pass towards 8812 Summit Soft powder snow and a 5cm layer of wind loading on top of the storm slab along the ridge. Column test produced resistant planar on 4the hard tap from the shoulder. This would be the persistent weak layer 35cm down. Skied across 8812 bowl avoiding terrain traps. Low visibility at the top as we dropped in just as it started snowing moderately.
