Snowpack
The snowpack is weak on east aspect, blow, and at TL. In areas protected from the winds, the snowpack consists of 4F hard or less, FC/DH crystals with about 10 cm of new snow on top. This snowpack, although weak, is still unreactive. In open tree areas and ATL, the mid-upper part of the snowpack and a harder layer that can support weak layer crack propagation, as evidenced by several whumpf we triggered aloe the climb. However, these whumpfs were confined to train features. See snowpit for more details.
