Weather
Overcast, with no new snow. Light West wind and temperatures climbing into the low 30's. Not much evidence of current wind loading looking up at Chair Mountain and toward Marble.
Snowpack
At the profile location on an E facing 23 degree slope at 9600' there is a layer of depth hoar at the base of the snowpack. ECTP12 at the interface of this layer and the Thanksgiving Storm snow. New snow has settled into a slab with localized cracking and a micro slope triggered from sled traffic on the road below (yesterday 12/4)--see picture. Many collapses in the bushy and dead fall littered terrain above Lone Tree Bowl. I do not think there is depth hoar in the Lone Tree Bowl Start Zone. Low angle and flat terrain nearer to and on the ridge appears to have held snow prior to 11/23. The steeper generally E facing terrain was bare ground until 11/23.
