Went up to assess the snow conditions as the rat race has now begun. What we found was quite surprising! On our way up the mellow slopes of the bow summit area, we were seeing lots of shrubbies and thin spots. As we approached the couloir, conditions started to appear deeper and more consolidated. The couloir was great, but could use another storm as there are a couple pinch points that could be difficult on skis with current conditions. The rocks and hazards were below the couloir, and on mellower slopes. So take it REALLY EASY if your searching for some casual skiing (remember, it’s November). I was unfortunate enough to really gash my skis on the mellow slopes were everyone was party lapping. Final word; great walking conditions, sporty skiing conditions. unless you’re skiing the track-packed dog leg couloir.
