Snowpack

On a SE aspect favored by recent wind loading, a 15cm wind slab sits on top of alternating older wind slabs over faceted grains. There is a pencil hard, decomposing melt-freeze crust at 50cm above the ground that sits on top of a pencil hard 5cm layer of rounding facets that caps basal facets to the ground.
