Blue bird day in the San Juan Mountains. Light winds, ample sunshine, and warm temps.

Snowpack

4f+-> 1F Surface Slabs have been created by recent winds on exposed slopes. On solar slopes near and below treeline a crust has developed under the strong sun. Roller-balls were observed on many sunny slopes in the afternoon. The snowpack remains "touchy." Cracking and collapsing continues to be observed in unaffected areas. Surface hoar was observed this morning and we can expect more tonight. Due to the shallow snowpack the new snow is settling and faceting from the top and bottom.
