Temperatures on 3/18 at nearby Red Mountain Pass weather station (11,200ft) recorded above freezing for 7 hrs from 11 am to 6 pm. The high was recorded at 42 degrees. The notable warming trend producing extended temperatures above freezing at elevation in the Silverton area began on the 16th with a recorded high of 38 degrees. Loose wet activity was likely most active on that day. Day remained clear and calm for the duration of tour.
Avalanche
Two of the loose wet avalanches observed triggered slab avalanches in the surface snow that ran on the March 3 dust layer. One then stepped down briefly to what I presume is the Feb 26 dust layer. Photo of one such slide provided in media. Pressumed triggered on 16th or 17th.
