Snowpack

The snowpack in the Upper Castle Creek area is thin with VERY poor structure. Height of snow is 130-140cm in the trees above the huts w/ full boot pen. Above tree line is a mix of sastrugi and thin cover. A quick pit at 11,520' on a WNW aspect at tree line below the 1/18 slide had a HS of 97cm and here the mid pack is faceting (full boot pen) and the mid Jan and mid Dec interfaces are hard to ID. ECTN's and X in this mush. Spooky propagation on top of large depth hoar and depth hoar chains 35cm from the ground (PST 25/100 end). I do not want to be wandering around the valley when this receives its next load.
