Snowpack
2-3 feet of snow on the trail. Day after heavy wet snow dropped about a foot on the trail.
Avalanche
No avalanche but as we snowshoed the trail we heard 3 distinct whoomphs. The first just as we left the Princeton road and started on the CT. No sign of cracks, sound came from above. The next 2 occurred in the first gully about 1/10 mile in and both produced cracking in the snow just 3-5 feet above the trail on a slope of about 25 degrees. We turned around here!
