Weather

Clear in morning, switching to S1 and 20-30mph SW wind at 2:30pm below treeline.

Snowpack

Deep! No signs of instability observed, but likely to increase with snow load and wind. Similar skin track on 1/11 produced 30 collapses on S and N facing slopes below treeline, none observed today travelling on slopes under 32 degrees, while breaking trail all day. Crust layer found on S aspects on surface before new snow, and consolidated N facing powder that had the most supportable boot and ski penetration in weeks, with boot 40-50cm and ski 20-30cm
