Weather
Light snow and winds increased as the day progressed. At 1000, 4" of new snow with 0.5" of water content measured at the CAIC Snow Study Plot. At 1300 an additional 2" had accumulated.
Snowpack
Evidence of slabbing was minimal in the morning, but test results produced easy failures on the 12/3-4 surface hoar layer- now about 20-30cm below the snow surface. Recent sunny days have formed a supportable MF crust on sunny aspects. Shooting cracks in the new snow sitting on this MF crust were observed on an open ESE highway relevant test slope.
Avalanche
No natural avalanche activity was observed or triggered during ski testing.
