Snowpack

The transition to a springtime snowpack is slowly progressing. All slopes on the southern half ot he compass were composed of melt forms with some thick melt-freeze crusts. Northerly slopes around 10,500 feet still had a dry persistent weak layer around 1 meter deep that was 4F to 1F hard but showed no results on snowpack tests and had some spatially variable ice columns indicating that liquid water percolated to that persistent weak layer.
