It was hard to get motivated to go out with the wind howling outside my house in Revelstoke. Well, it was worth it. We parked at 15K and skinned up towards North Queest. The ridge heading up was wind effected and the snow was quite stiff underfoot. We saw some cracks in an isolated feature, but couldn't repeat it elsewhere. The winds were much calmer at ridgetop than in town. At the top of our line we stomped around the top of some convexities to see if anything would go, but nothing moved. Two ski cuts later, we dropped in our line on a NE aspect and had a wonderful run of blower powder. Lap two was a SE aspect from the 17K high point back down to the parking lot. We could feel the crust on these steeper, solar slopes, but not where it was mellower. All in all, it was a great day to be out.
