Winds were calm. Trace new snow and overcast skies in the morning and broken skies in the afternoon.
Snowpack
Dug a pit at 9700 ft, NNW aspect, 27 deg, HS 200 cm. Spot probing in the area near the pit ranged 170-250cm. Dug down 140cm and got ECTN30 below the graupel layer on a density change 30 cm↓. The upper 30 cm of the snowpack was F>4F transitioning to 1F at the point of failure. Below that, a stout 80 cm 1F>P hard slab (Jan 5-15 storm) rests on a 1cm V/FC mix 115cm↓ (Dec 26-Jan4 dry spell). Same PWL as noted in recent prior pits in and around Soda Mtn and Soda drainages. Propagation saw test on this layer scored PST 46/115 END.
