Blowing snow, high winds, heavy snow pack. I couldn't tell which was the winds were blowing in that valley.
Snowpack
Heavy snow today from last nights snowfall and today up there. 14" of fresh with a hard pack under.
Avalanche
Avy happened on a northern aspect, Elevation was 10,900 ft., Avy ripped to the ground. No on was caught. To the lookers left, where Hans Berg was caught in an an avy and died, some sledders stated that chute ripped as well. It was about 1000ft wide and ran to the location I took the photo. Before I left, I did switch my beacon to search to make sure no one was caught in it. Then, flipped it back to the truck with my 3 dogs....
