Snowpack

I dug on a southeast aspect below treeline that is fairly representative of the small and mid-sized highway paths. I found a 75cm deep snowpack consisiting of melt-freeze crusts over rounds and rounding facets. Vertical ice bodies were observed in the layer below the melt-freeze crusts, down to a depth of 43cm.
