Winds didn't have much available snow left to transport.

Snowpack

Exceptionally wind-damaged snowpack. Raised snowmobile tracks in all the terrain we traveled in. Any recently formed drifts were 1-finger to pencil hard, with most drifting very low in the terrain in gullies near treeline. Typically wind-loaded easterly alpine start zones appeared quite scoured. South to west facing terrain above treeline was scoured back to rock.
