Temps in the teens, wind blowing from the SE. Light to moderate snow fall.

Thick crust on top of deep week layer.
Avalanche
No avalanches but we heard 4 big whumpfs. First when I stomped my snowshoe trying to get out of a post hole. Second, was while we were standing still. The last and, what turned us around, was a big whumpf that came from up high on Star Mountain, funneling down the shoot that ran 3 years ago, just past the forest service/private property line.
