Weather

Moderate to heavy snowfall and strong southwest winds for most of the trip. 3" of new snow had fallen during the three hour trip.

Snowpack

Near treeline on a northeast facing slope, the total snowpack was between 2 and 2.5 meters deep. About 1 meter has accumulated since January 18. A mid-storm layer that is an obvious density change about 40 cm below the surface produces propagating Extended Column Test results on isolation. The interface between the 1/19 storm and the previous surface, 1 meter down produced moderate to hard propagating results as well.
