Weather

Snowing hard all day. About 6" fell during the course, with 6" of 24hr snow before that. Some moderate westerly winds from noon to 1pm, otherwise calm to light winds.

Found several persistent slab issues in the snowpack, the most obvious ones are the continued slab over the basal facets/depth hoar (40cm from ground) as well as a buried surface hoar layer at 70cm from ground. Results were variable on the buried surface hoar layer and couldn't get it to propagate today. The depth hoar interface was easier to initiate than last week (even though it is buried deeper now) and is still propagating, although the fractures are not shear.
