Snowpack

Mostly stable snowpack with a solid midpack. There is a crust near the surface that we could break through with our snowmobiles but was supportable if we got off our sleds and stood on the snow surface. We did find a layer of near-surface faceted crystals on a north and northwest-facing aspect that was buried about a foot deep. Although we could get a fracture to propagate when we cut through the surface crust and isolated a column, if the surface crust was intact, we did not see any signs of instability.
