Avalanche

Observed two natural avalanches on Porcupine Saddle, ENE aspect at approximately 12,300' elevation, slope angle approximately 35 degrees. These natural slides occurred in terrain within the ski area boundary that has not been open to the public this year and is likely representative of backcountry conditions. Appeared to run either at the new-old interface or at a density change within the new snow. SS-N-R2-D2 Ski patrol also triggered two avalanches with explosives on Tunnel Face, SSE aspect at approximately 11,500' elevation, slope angle 40-45 degrees. This terrain also has not been open to the public this season but may have had previous avalanche mitigation work performed (I'm not on patrol and can't say for sure). Appeared to run at the storm interface but wasn't close enough to tell for sure. SS-AE-R2-D2
