It's soggy out there boys, girls, and other folk. Didn't feel like the snow got a good overnight freeze until 1825m elevation. Open creeks running across the road up to 1900m+. Above 2000m the new snow from over night that was very wet and gloppy lower down dried out and seemed like it could be fun, if it weren't for the fact it was on top of a bomb proof crust. Wind affect was present on exposed slopes, but we didn't find any evidence of rime growing on the west facing trees. The skiing was pretty classic survival skiing in the trees off Blady Rocks; we thought the skiing might actually be best on the north side of the highway on open, polar slopes but didn't bother to confirm. Open and closed trees were littered with trees bombs that had frozen into the most poorly spaced moguls imaginable. To make the most of day, we dug a pit at 2050m and found all of the crusts talked about in the forecast, and wet facets in the bottom 65cm of the snowpack.

Four crusts present at 65cm, 85cm, 110cm, and 125cm off the ground. Wet facets below and just on top of the 65cm crust. Finger density below the 85cm crust, four finger from 85cm to 100cm, and fist density from 100cm to 130cm (not including crusts).
