Heavy dense storm snow on top of thick rain crust layer.
Snowpack
We dug a pit on NE (leeward slope) significant wind transfer accumulation on top of persistent rain-crust layer. Storm slab slid @60cm while isolating our column, (2 pits and 3 separate results) very touchy, we did not even get to our compression test. Seemed to be an isolated result in a particularly deep snow deposit on a very firm rain crust layer. We skied an eastward aspect and lower elevation where we triggered a size 1 storm slab avalanche below treeline at approx 1790m elevation.
