Size 1 wind slab triggered on a small 30 degree north facing slope. Approximately 30cm deep by 3m wide by 20m long, the wind slab slid on the underlying crust. Skiing conditions were good but variable - hard wind affected snow mixed with pockets of wind deposited powder. Wind appeared to have come from variable directions, as deposits were found on various aspects. Surface hoar observed forming on the forest service road, still visible at 15:30. Surface hoar not observed at higher elevations on N face where we skiied.
