Warm temperature and clear sunny days this past week reduced snowpack depth and formed sun crust on any south aspect slopes steeper than about 15 degrees. Lots of bare rock and ground on steep exposed south slopes. Lots of deadfall and shrubs in forested terrain. Snowpack generally inadequate for safe turns on south side of Lightning Strike/Baldy/Crags.
