Quick report

Weather
sunny
Riding Quality
good
Snow Conditions
powder, windAffected

The trail up and down from Gin is thin but much better than expected - we didn't need to take our skis off in either direction! There is a range of surface types from 5cm of wind-pressed snow in exposed terrain, to soft slabs or powder in lee/sheltered terrain. On an east-facing feature and a south aspect at 1700m, we found 40cm slabs that broke somewhat easily on a melt-freeze crust. Another hand sheer just below the summit on Gin's north aspect broke non-planar down about 35 and was pretty resistant. Great skiing below this and jumping on small convexities didn't produce any results.
