Sun, high pressure on Thursday after several days of new snow and some wind above treeline. Very cold morning (-20's, heavily inverted in valleys) with rapid warming by 11 or noon to 20's or higher.

~1-2 feet of soft slab new snow overlying faceted older snow. slight wind and sun affect in exposed areas. Collapsing observed in most meadows, sometimes propagating 10-20 meters causing snow to shake off low bushes and tree branches. Cracking evident
