Weather

Inversions; even temps at TH 15-20* warmer than Eagle River Valley. Still cold up high, w Moderate winds ~11700'. Clouds & convective snow showers visible to SW, over main Elk Divide.

Snowpack

soft storm slab (5-7/8 of HS) over older snow. Much less snow below Christmas week storm snow than in areas to south. Well-developed weak layer (basal DH) on shady slopes NTL. Many other slopes lack distinct WLs.

Avalanche

Multiple crowns in only cirque we could see well. All but one on similar terrain.
