Weather

Mostly cloudy skies with air temperature at 1 degree centigrade. Winds picked up during tour. Rigdge top winds transported all snow off trees and some snow on surface. Winds in valley bottom were higher as skin track all the way to parking area was filled in.

Snowpack

Pit was below corniced area off the south skin track. Slope was 33 degrees and height of snow was 169 cm. Snow surface temperature was 0 degrees. New snow in valley was 13 cm; mid slope 20 cm and at pit was 35 cm (wind loaded). No shooting cracks or collapses observed. Pit tests: STE Q2 at 145 cm on 1 to 2 mm new snow; CT10 Q3 (barely moved) at 153 cm; and CT35 Q3 (barely moved) at 124 cm on 2 to 4 mm P sun crust. Skied the slope without any sloughs.
