Snowpack

Recent warm temperatures have greatly affected surface snow, though did little to affect deeper layers- poor structure deeper in the pack persists. Therefore, not a whole lot of meaningful change from warmup. Lots of runnels, rollers and melting happening on sunny slopes (again, mostly confined to upper snowpack). Ski penetration only 2 to 12 cm, even on northerly terrain. Suspect that once temperatures cool, the warmup will have eased some tension, though not greatly. Slides may become somewhat more difficult to trigger, though if they are, will likely still be quite large and destructive.
