Snowpack
The snow that fell last week settled to about 6-10" and was capped by a supportable crust in most areas. Steep slopes near rock outcrops were generally covered in roller balls and cinnamon rolls up to 2' in diameter and involved only the top few inches of snow that fell on Thursday and Friday. We saw wet loose avalanches that had been entrained some older snow on a few steep, southerly slopes. Though we found newly formed or reformed cornices on E and SE aspects, we didn't see any evidence of recent cornice fall. We wallowed through cold, dry settled snow overlying facets and depth hoar in very steep and shaded north-facing couloirs. It was slabby, but we didn't find any significant propagation.
