Snowpack
Triggered SS-AS-R3-D1.5-O/G at 11,400' E-SE aspect approx 38deg. Crown approx 80cm 30m across
Was skiing trees to the NW of Janets Cabin (2.5 mile SE of Vail Pass). Snow has gained some strength in the last week. Wasn't breaking through to facets as much. Numerous collapses and shooting cracks observed on all aspects above 11,000'
Was on lower angle slope and saw terrain roll over ahead of me and checked up and traversed just above lip. Good collapse and fracture propagation and off it went. Fracture propagated for many dozens of meters but only the steeper gully slid.
