Had been cold and very windy (skied nearby on Thursday) after a storm. Friday (day of observation) was warmer with low wind.
Snowpack
Wind blown snow.
Avalanche
Wind slab. 1.5-2 ft. crown. Broke in front of me and behind me as I was skiing through the narrowest section of the chute. Escaped right as chute widened. Slide seemed to move relatively slowly, broke all the way to the ground in a single layer.
