Weather

Beautiful calm morning. A few clouds and rapidly rising temperatures.

Snowpack

12cms of new snow at surface from last weeks storm system. Still cold, but do not expect this to last past mid-morning. Knife hard 5-10cm melt-freeze crust with obvious dirt layer will help this layer to shed as small wet loose on steep slopes and melt on lower angled terrain over the coming days. Very minor cornice development, and snow still on trees indicate low wind speeds through this event. Very small Wet Loose Avalanches which may reach, but not impede work on the highway mmay occur through the warming period. Only Mounatin Boy and Little Boy still hold snow intrack through to roadway. Overall, conditions are looking good for a trouble-free opening Friday.
