A partner and I were climbing up below the rocks in the picture on the right side. Once we hit the rocks we were wallowing in the facets so we headed left to try and continue climbing through the knee deep snow. We stopped climbing and were wondering if there were easier ways to climb up and over a very small but steep convexity instead of traversing climbers left, and the wind slab broke. This was right at 9:20 am. We were both tumbled around by the slide and it pretty much had its way with us until it came to a rest. We definitely had to fight it by pushing down on the bed surface. When the slide came to a rest we were both on top of he snow surface with maybe a couple inches of snow on top of us. Snow down the wind pipe, lost sunglasses, one ice axe, one whip it, and torn snow pants from crampons. The bed surface still seemed to be almost knee deep older snow as the avalanche did not step down.
