I Only Wanted To Heat Up My Lunch!

Another sunny but frigid day in the Cariboos! Driving in it was -35 but by the time we reached ridgetop in late morning it was only -18. People have been pushing into some serious avalanche terrain lately with the low and moderate hazard. The bowls by the cabin have seen some pretty heavy use and a few highmarkers had set off some small size 1 slabs recently. The snow surface had been affected by the cold and is made up of weak facetted snow crystals. Once this current surface is buried by snowfall or by strong winds loading new snow over it, we will likely see heightened hazard and suspect the likelyhood of triggering an avalanche will increase.
