Weather

Skies were obscured with light to moderate continuous snow and snow intensified throughout the day. Winds below treeline were light 5-7 mph and variable. Approximatel 6" of new snow from 1100-1500

Snowpack

Snow pack at treeline was 178cms in an area that would receive light to moderate wind loading from the S/SW. No avalanches were observed. No cracking or whumping. New storm snow from today and yesterday easily sluffed on steeper slopes and traveled downhill entraining more snow. Two compression tests were performed and after the storm snow was removed the tests were continued and the results were questionable. Below the storm snow was a thick slab sitting on weak snow.

Avalanche

None observed.
