Weather

Overcast and broken skies. Strong and gusty winds, mostly from the SW to W. Moderate with periods of intense snow transport.

Snowpack

Storm snow measured 40-50 cm. Lots of collapsing on E and SE aspects near treeline, on a layer of dusty wet grains just below last night's thin melt-freeze crust. On N/NE near and below treeline, pits/ski cuts suggested decent bonding at the crust or settled powder interface without the problematic wet grains below. Below NE ridgelines had an upside-down structure and up to 100 cm of drifted snow which we avoided. Some strong solar mid-morning turned NE to SE slopes moist with some rollerballs at mid to low elevations.
