Snowpack

On W-NW slopes BTL ~9000', apprx 80-120 cm HS. 20-30cm Settled storm snow, facets down to ground below that. Midpack facets supportable for skiing, 1F- to 4F. Larger basal facets for 10-20 cm above ground, 4F/F.

Avalanche

Small sloughs (<= D1) visible on the S/SW face of Bald Mountain from the mouths of the steep chutes on that face, likely just shallow surface instabilities from today's rapid warming of the recent storm snow from Christmas/NY.
