Snowpack

Heavily wind affected snowpack. ATL, winds have largely scoured most terrain features, Hard slabs persist in terrain depressions, and they are very easy to see. Near TL, winds have built fresh wind slabs on top of the older wind slabs. Lots of cross loaded terrain features and drifts. Snowpack structure consists of hard slabs 2 to 3 feet thick sitting on several buried weak layers. Southerly aspects have a crust facet combinations about 6 to 10 inches off the ground. Be cautious moving through treeline zone on steeper slopes. In more sheltered terrain, the top cm or 2 of the surface snow shows faceting. Could be a problem if they get buried.
