Mild temperatures making surface snow heavier and more slab-like. Otherwise, shady slopes below treeline still VERY WEAK, though lacking much tension with no recent loading. Strong northwest winds were clearly moving any available snow to lee slopes up high. (See Av Ob for details on presumed wind-triggered slide in Battleship.)
